A blood test to measure the level of IGF-1, a hormone that helps to control how rapidly the body’s cells grow and reproduce
Is it for you?
Are you looking to slow ageing by limiting your protein intake or by calorie restriction? Are you about to start a fasting regime and want to assess the impact on your IGF-1? This London-lab-only test can give you a measure of your IGF-1 levels which you can track over time. Please be informed that this test is only available in one of our partner clinics. You cannot have this test posted or have a nurse visit you at home. You will need to visit one of our clinics.
Why take this test?
IGF-1 blood tests are used to diagnose growth abnormalities and to evaluate pituitary function. However, you may want a blood test to measure your IGF-1 if you are about to start a program of intermittent fasting, or if you have already been intermittent fasting and would like to assess the effect it has had. High IGF1 levels can be associated with high protein intake.
